Yet again, we're seeing rumors of an 'iPhone Nano,' an inexpensive entry-level iPhone from Apple, this time from China Times. This rumor, as reported by BGR, claims that Apple will release a low-cost model to gain a better foothold amongst people who can't afford a shiny new iPhone.

Here's the trick: Apple currently does this. The entry level iPhone? That's an iPhone 3GS, it's free on contract. An iPhone 4 can be had for just $99. Admittedly, those are both on contract, but so are all the cheap Android phones that you see all over the place. Why in the world would Apple need to produce a low cost 'iPhone Nano' when they can keep selling last years model? When the new iPhone comes out, the iPhone 4S will drop in price, and the iPhone 4 will be free and Apple keeps their razor thin focus on a single product.
