In accordance with the excellent folks at DigiTimes, Apple desires fewer of your CDMA iPhone varients since they just haven't been selling.

Pegatron originally expected to ship 10 million CDMA iPhone 4s in 2011, but sources from upstream component makers pointed out that Apple's orders already saw a substantial reduction and the volume is estimated to drop to only five million units.

When the Verizon iPhone first was launched, a number of commenters (myself included) told Verizon shoppers to wait on obtaining an iPhone since it was late within the item cycle, and to count on a hardware refresh in June.
